ABOUT THE FOUNDER
A graduate from Loyola Marymount University's School of Film & Television, Luis Selgas is a casting producer, actor, and coach with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Throughout his extensive casting career, Luis has worked with top theatrical casting directors like Valerie McCaffrey (American History X, Babe) and Sarah Finn (Marvel Cinematic Universe) as well as major commercial offices throughout Los Angeles. Luis rose through the ranks of commercial casting (from lobby assistant, to session director, all the way up to Casting Producer) and spearheaded hundreds of campaigns for high-profile clients like Verizon, Apple, Facebook, and Disney. Whether it's reviewing thousands of actor submissions, directing hundreds of auditions and callbacks, or working with directors and agencies to discover standout talent, Luis has done it all!

As an actor, he has performed on stages in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, booked numerous national commercials, and appeared in TV and film—including a #1 film on Netflix. His experience on both sides of the camera gives him a unique perspective on what makes a performance compelling and bookable. Passionate about fostering individual growth and drawing from his extensive work on both sides of the camera, Luis started The Focused Actor to create a safe, supporting, and engaging space where actors can SIMPLIFY their process, SHARPEN their skills, and CHALLENGE themselves!
